UnitedBase is back with the long awaited Fall Cup! The registration has been closed, groups have been revealed and while we are waiting for the matchups and pre-rolled maps, we can sign up for the Fantasy League on discord, or we can enjoy this interview series, where our captains answered some of my serious or not so serious questions.

How did your team spend the summer break? Do you feel prepared for the Fall Cup?

Wormii: “We mostly played vcod together and won a night cup ( me, hooker, whls and vdkej )”

You have some well-established vcod additions to your team, does your team have a specific placement expectation or goal for this Cup?

Wormii: “Honestly, we are just here to have some fun, some of players are new to UO and we don’t expect some great results. We will do our best to make games interested and fun.”

After your previous experiences with the game how comfortable are you individually and your team feeling with CoD:UO at this point?

Wormii: “Like I told before, some players are new and some were inactive this summer. For me I can say, I am getting more and more comfortable with UO nowadays. But sometimes I still forget I have a smoke (so my teammates have to remind me every round 😂 )”

Are you happy that your team was listed in Group B, and what is your prediction about the placement of your team in the group stage?

Wormii: “Yes, I am happy with group B, think there are gonna be some nice and close matches. Everyone can beat everyone. But I believe in my team and I think we will be in top3 in group B.”

With particular regard to fantasy league participants, can you tell us your anticipated main lineup for the Fall Cup?

Wormii: “Everyone is asking me about our main LU. But really I am not here to point fingers in this team as a captain. We will talk before every match who can play. But if u want to know my preferred LU, it would be: wormii, whls, ambik, vdkej, reazon with hooker as a sub.”

Can you please share some details about your team and players?

Wormii: “From real life I know hooker, stiffy, ambik and maxx. Me and hook are living in the same street, so we know each other a long time. First I met maxx and ambik was at lan in Budapest 2021. We all met stiffy at lan in Prague 2022.

I have met vdkej online in 2020, when medo brought him to our team “remember” and we played some matches together.

Couple of days ago, was the first time I have ever played with reazon, but he is a nice and fun player, which we will get along just fine.

Our team was formed by King, we were talking before about joining this cup with unique, and when karma and rapid couldn’t bring fatality together, they joined us and we made 2 teams so we can all play and have a good time.

I don’t know so much about them personally, but I know most of us has kids and family, so it’s hard to play every day. But I am sure they are all good lads in person and i hope i will meet them in person in Zagreb this year.”

How did your team spend the summer break? Do you feel prepared for the Fall Cup?

Luckii: “We had some really good holidays. We didn’t spend much time to play. We are trying to get back to the game as many do atm. We will carry on as team as we did with the minicup. We have better communication since we are mostly dutch speaking. Also it feels we have a more compared team as in motivation, time and skill. It feels like we all having more fun and play a competitive game, but we still can do some more team practice 😊”

Does your team have a specific placement expectation or goal for this Cup?

Luckii: “Main goal is to play a competitive game that we feel we are able to deliver the skill we have. This goes better day by day. But since we are almost swapping 2/3 players every cup it feels we have now a steadier team that feels more active and able to place top 5 I guess. “

With particular regard to fantasy league participants, can you tell us your anticipated main lineup for the Fall Cup?

Luckii: “Like its listed on the registration. Only Davy won’t be able to play that much this cup.”

Windje’s stats have gone from a player barely cracking the top 100 to a contender for a top 20 ranking in 2022. Describe him as a player and why he does so well in eGz.

Luckii: “Windje is very motivated to gain skill and to win the game. I think he is a great addition to our team as he is open to communicate and grow with us as team. He is smashbrother legend, maybe he has some tricks this cup 😉 “

Cubzyae is often one of the best players in cup competitions, but perhaps he has not played that many games against the absolute top tier. How good is he compared to other top players like L1mewax and TjEEEBi?

Luckii: “You are right and we are very fortunate that we have him with our team. It’s always nice to play with Cubzyea. He needs to find his way to play focused and aggressive during cups. He has a big lead in tactics and how we should play our game. He is to shy about his skill :D”

Can you please share some more details about your team and players?

Luckii: “We talk and share about our personal life but we never met as group much further than Whatsapp. I think because of bringing klanmor and egz together the ones like anglhz, cubzyea and me know about our private something more like koen, windje and floppy know about each other.

But I think we have a more active LU since we had a team with 9 players where we barely could get 5. I know windje is smoking and partying all day. Floppy is too busy with his personal life and koen is very calm. Anglhz is actually Spanish and cubzyea works from 6 am workaholic and sleeps 5 hours. Davy is finding his life into student life. What about me? I love making furniture, have a small dog and is allowed to play 2 games a week by my girlfriend.”
