The cup match between ELITEGAOZ and klanm0r went as expected on Sunday, January 31, with team ELITEGAOZ defeating klanm0r 25 to 8 in a match that posed little difficulty for the winner.

Following today’s win, ELITEGAOZ has now consolidated its fourth spot in Group A behind e9, iMORTALis, and POKERFACES and has most likely secured a place in the playoffs.

ELITEGAOZ controlled the match from start to finish

With the exception of the first round, won by klanm0r after a solid performance from Ukrainian player gRz, the match was dominated from start to finish by ELITEGAOZ following a spectacular outting from its top-fragger, Dutch player LUCKii.

LUCKii now joins EPIXOR as the second player to reach or surpass 40 kills/map in the fourth edition of the Reborn Cup.

However, tactically, klanm0r never stood a chance. While the team practiced the first map, Peaks, in the week before the game, it was not enough. With many new players inserted in the line-up and with the rest being vCoD players, the certain style of aggressiveness needed to play Peaks was not there.

Starting out on the Axis side, ELITEGAOZ constantly had the upper hand, working as a much better-oiled machine.

It managed better tactical nades that often resulted in huge health damage and even early kills, and it almost always established control of the burnt house in most rounds.

This allowed ELITEGAOZ to thoroughly control the map in the early rounds, block barn rushes, and quick A plants. Early rounds often resulted in 4/5-vs-2 scenarios that often brought in easy wins.

While klanm0r made up for its abysmal play on the Allied side with a strong showing on the Axis side, it was too late by that point, and LUCKii’s play often penalized even the smallest mistakes.

Especially efficient were LUCKii’s behind A pushes, which often led to round wins for ELITEGAOZ, preventing klanm0r for getting close to a tie.

Even if Arnhem was considered klanm0r’s home map, the dominant Peaks win demoralized the team, which wasn’t as sharp on Arnhem as it was in its pre-cup scrims.

Playoff spot guaranteed for ELITEGAOZ

By the time this article went live, ten days after the match was played, due to a technical difficulty with our website, klanm0r has already played all of its matches and has failed to secure a win.

The clan continues to scrim, following its tournament elimination, helping other teams prepare for the rest of their matches.

In the meantime, ELITEGAOZ has also lost its two subsequent matches against e9 (10-25) and iMORTALiS (6-25), but they’re still on pace to make the playoffs from the fourth spot of Group A.

The game was not live-streamed.
